$6.5M Settlement In A 2017 LA Car Collision
Introduction
A federal jury has ordered Los Angeles County to pay a $6.5 million settlement to a 16-year-old Torrance high school baseball player killed in a 2017 traffic collision.
As per the lawsuit, the incident took place at 10. pm. on March 7, 2017, near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Crest Road. The first guy made a U-turn while driving a 2004 Audi southbound on Crenshaw near Silver Spur Road in Rolling Hills Estates and collided with the second guy. The second guy did not stop the car and fled at a high speed.
The first guy immediately called 911 to alert the Los Angeles County emergency services operator. The operator asked the informer to chase the fled car and get the license plate. The guy, without thinking for even a while, chased the car with the operator still on the line and crashed into a 2000 Sienna Toyota van.
The person who was driving the van was traveling with his son, who eventually got died in the crash, and the man himself suffered from serious injuries.
